Another attempt and nobody cares

 

Can you imagine us having this conversation ten years ago? A former president, now candidate for president, being targeted by two assassination attempts? One which drew blood? We'd likely be in utter shock. It would feel like a historical low for our nation.

And while the news cycle ate this last attempt on former president Donald Trump up for a few days, it's already starting to fade into short updates or the second story on national news. It'll be third story or after the first break in a few days from now.

This is absolutely unprecedented, and so is the response. We're not only numb to it, we welcome it.

Tens of thousands of people are not only celebrating the attempt, but amusingly asking how it's possible the gunmen keep missing. "How can you miss a big, round target like that?" said one X user. Another said "just give me the gun. I'll do it." TikTok influencers are openly joyous about the attempts and some call for more until it's successful.

Like, what?!?

I remember when Democrats celebrated Michelle Obama's famous phrase "when they go low, we go high."

Hypocrites much?

I don't care your politics. If you wish death upon anyone, we can't be friends.

Sorry About That, Mom

Mom,   From where you sit today, perched above the heavens, chances are you already know the things I did which weren't the "best" as a child. So I'd just like to publicly apologize on this special day when I honor you, my beautiful mother, and all mothers out there. Season of Learning

Well the summer's officially over. Tomorrow the last of America's students go back to school, mine included. Its been a great summer but there is always something uplifting about this time of year for me. Maybe its that I somehow live vicariously through my kids and can remember the butterflies in my stomach at the thought of walking through those school doors for another year of adventure. Although to them, the butterflies are more about how good they'll look and if the chics will dig em (which is probably what I was thinking at their age). I might be dating myself by the very comment I just made. Haha. Hey, what can I say, I've been cool, hot, fresh, and ill, and at various times of my life, those were proud monikers.
