Summer, summer, summertime.

If you could speak to yourself from today back to January 1st of this year, what would you say?

 Did you enjoy summer? It was nice. Nothing too crazy. To some degree forgettable. I should have definitely made more meaningful memories. But the memories I did make were with those I love, and those are the only memories I care about making.

Any unexpected wins or losses? Well, a win is I'm going to be a grandfather! Jan 2025. That's more than enough of a win to cover any losses I'd care to remember.

If you could speak to yourself from today back to January 1st of this year, what would you say? I'd ask myself to work harder at forgiving myself and others. Holding onto things will only drag you down. Let. It. Go.

What lessons have you learned so far this year? It's hard for me to Let. It. Go. Lol. I'm hilarious all by myself in this lonely little corner of the internet. Ha!
More seriously though, I've learned I have a great deal of strength and it usually comes out exactly when I need it. But I want I'm learning to summon it all the time, and not just at the 11th hour.

Sorry About That, Mom

Mom,   From where you sit today, perched above the heavens, chances are you already know the things I did which weren't the "best" as a child. So I'd just like to publicly apologize on this special day when I honor you, my beautiful mother, and all mothers out there. Season of Learning

Well the summer's officially over. Tomorrow the last of America's students go back to school, mine included. Its been a great summer but there is always something uplifting about this time of year for me. Maybe its that I somehow live vicariously through my kids and can remember the butterflies in my stomach at the thought of walking through those school doors for another year of adventure. Although to them, the butterflies are more about how good they'll look and if the chics will dig em (which is probably what I was thinking at their age). I might be dating myself by the very comment I just made. Haha. Hey, what can I say, I've been cool, hot, fresh, and ill, and at various times of my life, those were proud monikers. With the new school year, I as a parent know that past the social dynamics of high school and middle school, my sons are in for a year of learning and that to me is really cool.
